Beyond Standards

A special exhibit of beautiful gerbil colors and patterns that fall outside the established AGS show standards. A wide variety of beautiful new gerbils from breeders working with unusual variations.

Photo Contest

Can't come to the show in person? Send in a photo of your gerbil and we'll let the visiting public choose a winner! Email your photo to Diane Nott to be included in a day of show display!

Silent Auction & Raffle

Beautiful craft items, useful gerbil supplies, adorable novelties and more, to benefit the AGS! In past years we have had wonderful items from books to jewelry to quilts to gerbil supplies. We need a coordinator for these events and your donations as well! Coordinator:   Volunteer!

Gerbil Agility

We are hoping to showcase this growing new "sport" within the gerbil showing world. Ch. Twin Squeaks' Herman was the first to bring gerbil show jumping to the national consciousness with his famous You Tube Video. In this event, we'd like to follow up on the Midwest Show 2008's highly entertaining live agility demonstration. We need some one to help design a structure and coordinate this event!   Volunteer!

Gerbil Artwork

Following in the pawprints of Knolls' Gerbils Phoebe, sculptress, a demonstration of artwork made by gerbils. Both static art and live demonstrations are welcome!

Meet the Authors!

Holly Robinson (The Gerbil Farmer's Daughter) and Donna Anastasi (Gerbil and Chinchilla Complete Guide to Care series) will be on hand with books to sign and to talk about their ideas for upcoming works!

Rodent Roundup

Ambassdors from several other beloved pocket pet species will be on hand, along with information about their origins, care, and habits.

Music!

A first-ever event at the New England Show, singer-songwriter Randy Robbins and folk duo Dagmar will perform at 7 pm Saturday, May 1 in GerbJam: A Live Acoustic Music Show. Produced by Skyworks Productions and The Soulful Gerbil.

Friday, April 30th
4:00-9:00 pm	Set-up Health inspections
4:30 pm	Tales from Lake Robegone The storytelling Hanna family will entertain with their repertoire of humorous "conversations" between the rodent members of the household: Miss Dusty, the Chinchilla, Foamy and Sasquatch, the degus, and dozens of gerbil family members, in an off-beat live performance.
4:00-9:00 pm	Member Activities Favorite night-before activities include socializing, snacking, and arts and crafts for gerbils and their people. Paintable gerbil sculptures available for $5 each or $8/pair.
Saturday, May 30th
8-10 am	Health inspections
10:30 am	Show Call: All gerbils who will compete in the show should be placed on the judging tables. (Please check the Show Rules & Regulations page ahead of time to make sure that your gerbils have the proper size of show carrier. Also, remember to provide each gerbil in the show with a source of moisture/water, such as a piece of carrot or a grape.)
10:30-11:00	Judges' meeting and lunch.
11 am	Judging starts Floor inspection Open to the Public
11:30 am-12:30 pm	Pet Class I - for kids 8 & under Hamtrack races Tube chew races
1:30-3:30 pm	Pet Class II - Mock Show - for kids 9 & up AGS Youth Asst. Judges will judge pet gerbils using Exhibition Format. Hamtrack races Tube chew races
3:30 pm	Photo contest & People's Choice Award announcements.
