Agouti Spot Female

8 weeks

Judges Comments:

Very flashy gerbil, although her eyes are quite round. I love how this spotted gerbil manages to retain the depth of color found in a non-spotted Agouti. Her ticking is consistent, and she has a nice ridge of black fur on her tail, which ends in a pleasing tuft. She does look slightly large for a pup, and care should be taken to ensure she does not become excessively bulky as she matures. Keep showing!

Siamese Male

8 weeks

Judges Comments:

This Siamese male is off to a great start in his show career. I love his even beige coat, which is almost completely free of molt lines. His points are developing nicely, and his nose is starting to shade nicely over his face. His ears are angled upward a bit too much, but this could be due to him being alert and on guard. He has a lovely eye. His tail has good length, although the width could be more consistent. Lots of potential.

Blue Pied Female

4 weeks

Judges Comments:

Very nice pied female. She is very mature for her age, and is developing a very nice body type. Her headset is very pleasing, she has nice almond-shaped eyes, and her thick set of whiskers fans out nicely around her face. Her coat color is light for a pied blue, but it may darken with age. Because of her light fur, it is difficult to make out her collar. However, she certainly has a nice full blaze.

Blue Pied Male

10 weeks

Judges Comments:

Nice masculine body type coming in on this male. His tail does not appear completely straight, but ends in a decent tuft. His collar isn't very wide, and there is an intermingling of white and blue fur. Nevertheless, his coat retains much depth in color, and the contrast is pleasing. He does have a slight neck dip, and will need to fill out to compete in adult classes. Keep showing!

Black Mottled Female

11 weeks

Judges Comments:

Nice mottled female, starting to develop a promising build. Her eye is a bit too round. Her tail is short and tapers, and could certainly be more tufty. I do like her full blaze, as well as the variegation in her collar, lower back, and tail. Ideally there would be more white on a mottled gerbil, but the amount that she has clearly sets her apart from a pied.

Nutmeg Female

4 weeks

Judges Comments:

This pup is in the pre-molt stage, making it difficult to judge her to the adult standard for nutmeg. Her body is still compact and she isn't fully developed. Her tail has decent width for a pup, but is short and lacks a sufficient tuft. She has undesirable white on her paws, and her toenails lack the dark pigment called for in the standard. She does have a nice eye shape. I would like to see her when she matures into an adult nutmeg.
