Fur: The coat shall be jet black down to the skin and evenly colored over the body.

Eyes: Shall be black, large and bright.

Ears: Shall be covered in short fine black fur.

Feet: Toenails shall be black.

Whiskers: Shall be jet black, long and bristling.

Faults include: White bib, paws, mustache, or chin; stray white hairs; pale eye circles; lightened fur or brown or other off-color tinge to coat; fur of any other color in the coat; toenails not of the correct color.

Slate

Genetics: aa C- D- E- P- uw[d]uw[d]

Fur: The coat shall be a dark slate down to the skin and of an even color all over the body, the appearance of a “blue” cast throughout the coat.

Eyes: Shall be dark, large and bright.

Ears: Shall be covered in fine slate fur.

Feet: Toenails shall be dark in color.

Whiskers: Shall be slate to match the body color, long and bristling.

Faults include: White bib, paws, mustache, or chin; stray white hairs; fur appears black (too dark) or lilac (too light); pale eye circles; fur of any other color in the coat; toenails not of the correct color.

Blue

Genetics: aa C- dd E- P- Uw-

Also called: Azure, Dilute Black

Fur: The overall color shall be a dark bluish gray, similar to old pewter. The hair shall be dark bluish-gray down to the skin and of an even color all over the body.

Eyes: Shall be dark, large and bright.

Ears: Shall be covered in fine blue slate hair.

Feet: Toenails shall be dark in color.

Whiskers: Shall be bluish gray to match the body color, long and bristling.

Faults include: Hair of any other color in the coat; toenails not of the correct color; pale eye circles; the fur should not be ticked.

Lilac

Genetics: aa C- D- E- pp Uw-

Fur: The coat shall be a leaden gray down to skin and of an even color all over the body, with the appearance, as the name suggests, to a “lilac” cast throughout the coat.

Eyes: Shall be dark red, large and bright.

Ears: Shall be covered with fine gray fur.

Feet: Toenails shall be a lightly gray.

Whiskers: Shall be gray to match the body color, long and bristling.

Faults include: Tan or other off color coat tinge to coat; faded coloring; fur of any other color in the coat; white bib, paws, mustache, or chin; pale eye circles; toenails not of the correct color.

Dove

Genetics: aa Cc[h] D- E- pp Uw-

Fur: The coat shall be a soft dove gray, as light as possible without losing the ruby eye, with a silvery cast throughout.

Eyes: Shall be ruby, large and bright.

Ears: Shall be covered with fine short soft gray fur.

Feet: Toenails shall be neutral in color.

Whiskers: Shall be light gray to match the body color, long and bristling.

Faults include: Tan or other off color tinge to coat; fur of any other color in the coat; pink eyes; pale eye circles; white bib, paws, mustache, or chin; toenails not of the correct color, broken or missing whiskers, broken or kinked tail.

Cream

Genetics: A- C- D- E- pp uw[d]uw[d]

Also called: Ivory, Ivory Cream

Fur: The coat shall be the color of cream or buttermilk from tip to roots, evenly colored throughout, with no shading or markings.

Eyes: Shall be dark ruby large and bright.

Ears: Shall be un-pigmented and covered in a cream fur.

Feet: Toenails shall be neutral in color.

Whiskers: Shall be cream, long and bristling.

Faults include: Fur of any other color in the coat or a cast to the coat; color in the tail; ticking; staining or discoloration; toenails not of the right, color.

*A Cream Gerbil with a well-defined low demarcation line that contrasts strongly with the white belly may show in White Belly, using the cream standard for the top coat.

White

Genetics: varies

Also called: Black Eyed White, Pink Eyed White, Red Eyed White

Fur: The coat shall be pure white down to the roots, evenly colored throughout, with no shading or markings.

Eyes: Shall be any color.

Ears: Shall be covered in a white fur.

Feet: Toenails shall be neutral in color.

Whiskers: Shall be white, long and bristling.

Skin: Skin pigment to match eye color and be as light as possible.

Faults include: Fur of any other color in the coat or a cast to the coat; colored fur in the tail; ticking; staining or discoloration; toenails not of the right color.

Red Fox

Genetics: aa C- D- ee pp Uw-

Also called: Red Eyed Nutmeg, Saffron, Argente Nutmeg

Fur: The coat shall be gold down to the roots. The back fur shall be deep rich, reddish gold and the color will fade towards the sides to a dark cream belly. There shall be no line of demarcation or white belly.

Eyes: Shall be ruby in color and surrounded with lighter furs.

Ears: Shall be covered with fine golden fur.

Feet: The feet should be the same color as the belly. Toenails shall be neutral in color.

Tail: Shall be the same color as the body. The furs of the tuft shall be gold.

Whiskers: Shall be golden, long and bristling.

Faults include: Fur of any other color in the coat; lightened or faded fur; white bib, paws, mustache, or chin; stray white hairs; toenails not of the correct color.
