Frequently Asked Questions
All members of the American Gerbil Society are expected to adhere to our Code of Ethics with the highest standards of excellence. We appreciate and encourage all forms of feedback, which can be submitted through our to the form on the right.
Here are just a few examples of the types of feedback you can send:
- You had a positive experience with a member and wish to acknowledge them.
- You had a negative experience with a member that you feel warrants a report.
- You are unsure if the specific actions of a member are ethical or moral.
- You have concerns regarding the well-being of animals in the care of a member.
We respect artist talent and take copyright infringement seriously.
Be sure to consider whether fair use, fair dealing, or a similar exception to copyright applies before you submit. These requests should only be sent in by the copyright owner or an agent authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
All reports are diligently investigated to ensure the rights of artists are preserved. If you choose to submit a copyright takedown request, please remember that you are initiating a legal process. Do not make false claims. Misuse of this process may result in the suspension of your account or other legal consequences.
The fastest and simplest way to submit a copyright takedown notice is by filling out and submitting the form to the right. Copyright takedown notifications must include the following elements. Without this information, we will be unable to take action on your request:
1. Your contact information
You’ll need to provide information that will allow us to contact you regarding your complaint, such as an email address, physical address or telephone number.
2. A description of your work that you believe has been infringed
In your complaint, be sure to clearly and completely describe the copyrighted content you are seeking to protect. If multiple copyrighted works are covered in your complaint, the law allows a representative list of such works.
3. Each allegedly infringing work’s specific URL
Your complaint must contain the specific URL of the work you believe infringes your rights, or we will be unable to locate and remove it. General information about the work, such as a description or excerpt is not adequate. Please include the URL(s) of the exact work. The URL should be in the following formats:
4. You must agree to and include the following statement:
“I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
5. And the following statement:
“The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
6. Your signature
Complete complaints require the physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a representative authorized to act on their behalf. To satisfy this requirement, you may type your full legal name (a first and last name, not a company name) to act as your signature at the bottom of your complaint.
